Today I argued with someone about what criteria a gallery has to meet to have an exhibition with them. I never got an answer and that’s why I surfed around the web to get some information about this someone. There was nothing to find about him, just some digital images, no exhibitions, no catalog, nothing. The great guy he wants to be is nothing more than just some few photoshoped digital images worth some pennies. Ladies and gentlemen I don’t know, an artist without audience is like a brewer without yeast. We don’t need jerk off’s, do we?
Sometime during the next few weeks the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) will probably start working. This particle accelerator, a 27 km tunnel in length, 100m underground, (the largest tunnel in Europe), spanning two countries from Switzerland to France, will eventually answer some essential not yet answered physical questions, for example about the postulations of the Higgs Boson which is not yet discovered.
Do you remember the time when you made shadow figures as a child? It is a funny thing to stand in front of a lamp and make all these creatures then shown on the wall. There is more around. Imagine to paint and hold your fingers that it will look like an animal. You cant? Watch the video:
Rinpa Eshidan brought up a fast motion clip where they captured artists painting on a wall over a period of one week. It's an endless flow of painting, painting over and painting over again. Great work and nice to see! after the click.
Some masterpieces can't stand the test of time. They are lost in time and space once they were build. They are like sand blown in the wind. Luckily the camera catches what the sand artists do. Using sand instead of paint; building instant artwork with just fingers and sand. Watch the video after the click.
Once in a while I come around things I did some time ago, for example folding cranes . Origami is the traditional Japanese art of folding. When I was young I had a book about folding airplanes when I have the time I will search for it and start folding one. Actually I don't have to search. The guys from Amazing Airplanes host many folding instructions. There are many other sites around, some of them host many different Origami folding instructions. If you really like it difficult check out those stars and diagrams.
Niels Steen Sørensen is a painter from Denmark. His paintings are very futuristic and abstract with a colour selection that makes it really easy for viewers to stay, look and think. When I came across his website I hoped that he will reply on my offer to show his paintings on my website. My hope was heard and he even offered me an interview. Here we go!
An impressive usage of a ferrofluid is shown in the installation "Morpho Towers" by Sachiko Kodama . Watch the video after the click on "read more".
Qnq send me a link to a very funny 3D animation video which I will now present here. It's from 1st ave machine, a designing group specialised in 3D animation. Their latest clip is for a really big German football shoe manufacturer but the video clip here is more relaxed and somehow impressive as it combines real video with animation. Remanufacturing nature by sience for a better future; be prepared for the cyberplants:
